Our friends at Rijk Zwaan have brought us an out of this world lettuce. Yes, we're talking about an interstellar variety straight outta space. The Salanova® is composed of tons of crunchy leaves, equal in size. With a simple nip, these leaves are ready for tossing. This futuristic lettuce doesn't even need a rinsing!
"For a one snip harvest, firmly grasp the lettuce with one hand and cut at the base with the other." — Our mate the gardener
A hearty salad, good for the soul and planet! The endless mini-leaves are perfect for a zero-waste salad recipe. Pull out le leftovers from the fridge and toss them up into a fun new creation!
Your indoor garden supplies all ingredients for a beautiful harvest: water, light and nutrients. In the case of a pod that doesn't sprout (which can happen as we work with natural materials), we will send you a new pod free of charge. Take a look at our FAQ.
Our seeds all come from French seed sellers. More than half of our seeds are organic. The substrate in which they grow is made from coconut peat and coir. The Pods are made out of bioplastic and are biodegradable: when your plants grow tired you can repot them or compost them.
includes all the ingredients needed to ensure the best growth possible for your plants: water, light, and nutrients. If your pod happens to be a little mischievous (which can happen, as with every other living product), we'll send you another pod! You can check out our FAQ for more information.
* Almost all of the seeds we work with are organic.
The pod
Thanks to our patented Float® design, you only have one thing to do: add water once every two or three weeks when the floater sinks. The plant takes all mineral salts it needs out of the water (these are released into the water over the weeks). Discover the Prêt à Pousser technology.
Not in the pod, they will become each others competitors. Choose the prettiest one and let it grow in peace. If you are really not ready to divorce the other plantlet, repot it in soil.
No worries, it's pretty common. Virescent Salanova® takes some time to germinate, and the rich environment of the substrate is helping the development of algae or mold. Once your plant starts to sprout and grow, its strands will cut off the access to light of the algae, and they will disappear. If the situation seems out of control, do not hesitate to send us a photo in the "Assistance" section of the application.
